Ray Ables

Ray Ables

Ray Ables has been with Tyson Foods since June of 1991, when he began working at our Gadsden, Alabama, plant, where he served as a sanitation and first processing supervisor. Ray continued his career at Tyson Foods at our Snead, Alabama, plant – where he worked in live production training and broiler service – and then at our Albertville, Alabama, plant, where he was a broiler and breeder manager. Ray's career then brought him to Springdale, Arkansas, where he served as a live production manager, and on to Brandon, Mississippi, where he currently works as a live complex manager.

Ray holds a bachelor of arts degree in poultry science with a minor in business. He has served as both vice chairman (2011) and chairman (2012) of the Mississippi Poultry Association.

Leasea Butler

Leasea Butler

Leasea Butler has worked for Cobb-Vantress, Inc., a fully-owned subsidiary of Tyson Foods, Inc., since 1998, directly after graduating from the University of Arkansas Poultry Science program. She has worked as a pullet/breeder manager, a complex manager, and as a director of production.

Leasea has also worked for Cobb-Vantress abroad, providing technical services in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Russia. She currently serves as the technical services liaison between Cobb-Vantress and Tyson Foods. Her experience spans all areas of poultry production.

Dave Juenger (Mentor)

Dave Juenger

Prior to his current role as Director of Global Support Services, Dave was Director of Cobb pedigree operations from 1997 until 2007, where he was responsible for all aspects of the pedigree production pipe-line. His more than twenty years of experience at Cobb has given him a wide breadth of knowledge, from poultry husbandry and farm management to distributor dealings and global expansion projects.

Dave currently serves on the boards for Ikiraro Investments (Rwanda) and One Egg (Memphis, Tennessee).

Matt Lawson

Matt Lawson

Matt Lawson started with Tyson Foods, Inc. in 2003 as a supervisor trainee in Carthage, Texas. While in Carthage, he was promoted to General Processing Manager for the 1st and 2nd processing. Matt then transferred to Cobb-Vantress, Inc. in 2008 when the Timberlake Great Grand Parent farm was being built. He currently serves as the farm manager.

Matt is a graduate of Texas A&M with a degree in poultry science. He currently serves as a director for the Texas Poultry Federation.

Jay Smith

Jay Smith

Jay began working at Tyson Foods Inc. as an intern, upon graduating from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor’s in Poultry Science. His first role was in Commodity Purchasing Group where he currently buys food ingredients.
